Selena Elmer is the Associate Director and Chief of Staff on the Market Innovation team for the Aspen Institute Energy and Environment Program. In this role, she manages the Market Innovation team’s operations, processes, and culture and provides strategic advice across program areas. She also serves as the Treasurer of the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA), a non-profit organization and first-of-its-kind maritime buyers group that accelerates commercial deployment of clean energy-powered shipping, enables economies of scale for first movers, and supports corporate freight buyer engagement in maritime clean energy policy.
Prior to joining Aspen, Selena worked in strategic and financial planning at the City of Seattle and collaborative process design on natural resource policy issues at Meridian Institute. She has a wide range of experience supporting interdisciplinary collaborative processes on topics including parks and recreation, regional ocean planning, land use, and food and agriculture policy. She received an MPA from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, and a B.A. in Public Policy and Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
