Michellie (pronounced Ma-Key-Lee) Hess is very excited to be joining the Aspen Institute as Senior Program Associate for the Ocean and Climate team. Prior to joining Aspen, she has held a range of research and communications positions in the social impact field including as a research fellow at the Ford Foundation, supporting the Food team at World Wildlife Fund and most recently as a Content Officer at the Centre for Ageing Better in London.
She earned her Master’s in Political Communication from the University of Glasgow and her Bachelor's in Comparative Politics and Government with a minor in French Language and Culture from the University of Puget Sound. She is originally from Walla Walla, Washington and is excited to be returning to the “other Washington”.
